Starting from Argiros House , guests can explore the endless beauties of the area.
Around 10 km north is Kolymbari. There you will find many fish taverns with fresh seafood. The beach has sand and some pebbles but there are often waves.

In Kolymbari there is also the monastery of Panagia Odigitria, with an important collection of valuable icons, and the Orthodox Academy of Crete where international conferences of theological interest are held.

The cosmopolitan Platanias is just 15 km away and is ideal for all kinds of tourist facilities, tasting, nightlife and entertainment, shopping, water sports, etc.

In 20 minutes and less than 20 km, you can find yourself at the port of Kissamos for a boat trip to the island of Gramvousa with the castle and the beach of Balos, of unique beauty with sapphire waters.

At 30 km away is Falassarna beach, one of the most famous beaches in Europe. The ruins of the Doric city at the north western end of the area can be visited free of charge at weekdays from 9.00 to 15.00, except on weekends and Mondays. Falassarna consists of five beaches and enchants with its turquoise waters and wide, golden, sandy beach.
Sphinari beach is preferred by those who like quietness. With a sandy beach with a few pebbles and many tamarisks, surrounded by Mount Koutrouli, it has dining options.

Elafonisi, in the southwest of the prefecture, is a small exotic paradise, with white sandy beach with pink touches from rubbed shells and turquoise waters, just 52 km from the village of Spilia.

Paleohora, 48 km south of the area, is a small town with a port that connects it with Sougia, Agia Roumeli, Loutro, Sfakia and Gavdos. It is offered for surfing lovers.

One of the most beautiful beaches east of Paleochora is Gialiskari, at the exit of the gorge of Anidra. It is essentially a cluster of three beaches with fine pebbles and crystal clear waters for those who love tranquility.
And of course Chania, with its inexhaustible attractions, the city is there for you to explore, with the old harbor and the lighthouse, which is built in 1864 on the site of the old Venetian lighthouse.The Tombs of the Venizelos family is a point of historical memory.

The Archaeological Museum (tel. 2821023315) has an entrance fee of 6 euros (and 3 euros redused) and is open 8.00- 20.00 except Tuesdays during the summer period.

The Maritime Museum is open from 9.00 to 16.00 except Sundays and public holidays, with a ticket price of 4 euros( and 3 euros redused).

The monasteries of Our Lady of the Angels Gouverneto, from 1537 and Holy Trinity of Jagarolon, from the 17th century, are offered for devote pilgrimage.

The ruins of ancient Kydonia scattered throughout the city of Chania, testify to the city’s past.
The Therissos Gorge is accessible by car along its entire length. It is crossed by Kladissos river, which originates from the White Mountains. A visit to the historic village of Therissos completes the picture of the place.
